One of the many secrets to the success of SER is our financial strength. We have cash in the bank and no debt. That said, some of you have yet to respond to the 2016 dues notice. Please renew as quickly as your workload permits and remember that your membership expires on March 31 if you have not renewed by that date. You can log into the SER website to verify payment.

Update: FINRA’s Dispute Resolution Task Force’s final report included SER’s “Phantom Retention of Experts” language as one of its 51 recommendations for action to the National Arbitration & Mediation Committee (“NAMC”). NAMC acted quickly, and SER has learned that the Initial Pre-Hearing Conference Script now includes our exact language as an admonition to the other instructions about witness list preparation and submission. A triumph indeed!

July is just around the corner and President-elect Jeffrey Shaff and Controller Patti Koetting are well into planning our Annual Meeting and Conference at The Union League Club.

As I will repeat each month for the balance of my term in office, please remember that new members are the plasma that re-invigorates SER’s lifeblood. The approval process has been streamlined, so be on the lookout for qualified candidates. We welcomed a new member this week.
